Church Ministries
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the
want of the saints, but is abundant also by
many thanksgivings unto God;
~ 2 Corinthians 9:12
"Diakonos: A noun used 30 times in the new testament identifying a table waiter, a servant of a master, a church leader (as in Deacon). Diakonia: a noun used 34 times in the new testament describing the service of love by those who minister to others. Diakoneo: a verb used 37 times in the new testament meaning to wait tables, serve a master, care for, give another a service of love."1 Ministry, regardless of capacity, means "to serve with love."

Deacon Ministry
Deacon Leon Petty, Chairman
God’s method by which the church of Jesus Christ has moved forward down through the centuries is that God selected a person to be the leader (the pastor) and then gave the leader others (deacons) to serve as support to the leader and as fellow servants to the congregation. It is understood that God has always chosen to give the leadership the vision for the work of the Lord. For a pastor and board to work together for the enlargement of the kingdom of God is a beautiful experience. The Deacons are chosen from among the congregation to "serve the church" in the practical, spiritual, and temporal matters of that body of believers.
